Aishwarya and Priyanka are vibrant fashion and lifestyle bloggers based in Chennai. At the outset of the interview, the sisters fondly recollected the journey and shared how they surpassed their hurdles when they started their career as a blogger initially. However, their passion and penchant for fashion kept them going.
They started their career as a blogger in 2018 and are happy that they took a chance. Aishwarya and Priyanka opined that meeting people from the same niche, taking a chance on the new project, collaborating with brands aids in keeping up the trend. Also, to upscale the brand and increase online visibility. Further, that they are truly lucky as they can fall back on their family. When asked about how to deal with criticism on Instagram, the sisters claimed that ‘Ignorance is bliss’. Although, one must be up for constructive criticism, as they help you grow.
Priyanka added that juggling between a day job and creating content for fashion and lifestyle could be quite a task. But not for someone who schedules and plans their events accordingly. She claims: ‘I am lucky that I get to work with my sister, who truly supports me. Although we don’t stay together, we meet each other on weekends and get our work done. Sometimes when we feel blue co-bloggers uplift our mood and we are back to the game. I think that’s the quintessence of this job, when we help other bloggers and be there for them, we get to learn a lot in turn’.
Furthermore, they shed some light on small businesses and collaboration. Also, shared that ‘It gives us immense pleasure and contentment when we collaborate with small business brand’. Nevertheless, while collaborating with a brand one must be careful to not fall for fraudulent activities/ scams. However, one can negate these mishaps by researching about the brand before accepting the offer, understanding the expectations of the brand, and remuneration. They further added that the collaboration would be fun and effortless if there is mutual respect and trust. While offering the opportunity to collaborate, brands must be mindful of setting realistic goals and outcomes.
When asked about ‘Is it difficult to keep up the IG algorithm’? The answer was ‘it is quite tricky as it changes every other day. We do our research to get to know which is trending and which kinda content would grab the eyeballs. It does take time to understand the trick’.
It was indeed a great pleasure to have an insightful conversation with Aishwarya and Priyanka. We thank and wish you both success in all your future endeavors. Keep inspiring us with your content.
